A smaller box but just as dynamic and hypnotic. The “Turbina” was a Perrelet creation from 2009. A true classic with the stamp of the signature of the historic watchmaker who invented the automatic winding system. Now in the Turbine collection the numerous models had always been produced in 44mm, or even in 48mm. The current taste trend for more measured boxes also finds a new response in Perrelet. The firm’s designers build a new Turbine with smaller architecture and have had to miniaturize the components.
New Titanium Turbine
Fans and followers of Perrelet already know that the blades of the sphere have an aesthetic effect without any other mechanical function. Like the aeronautical propulsion system, the 12 blades are kept on the dial with the hypnotic effect of their dynamism. They are made of anodized aluminum with five tungsten counterweights at the bottom. Now they have been reduced in proportion to the new 41 mm case, made of titanium.
Perrelet lance ten references of this new Turbine 41 Titanium. Four feature the brushed-finish polished titanium case and blue, green, red and black dials. For the first time, the piece wears an integrated titanium bracelet. And there are also six versions in a titanium case, but with black DLC finish and a rubber strap matching the spheres: yellow, orange, red, british green, blue and black.
The movement of this new Turbine 41 Titanium maintains its solid mechanical foundation. The automatic caliber P-331-MH is manufactured entirely by Soprod —brand and manufacture belong to Festina—. It is a precise caliber that has double certification COSC y Chronofiable. The movement is displayed through the sapphire crystal case back. The oscillating weight is embellished with the brand’s logo.
aesthetic notes
This new Turbine 41 Titanium retains collection layout EVO turbines from 2019, commemorating the tenth anniversary of the turbine’s patent. Smooth bezel case, vertically fluted case center, triple lugs and a pronounced crown with the brand’s logo. There is a new detail in the redesign of the hour and minute hands. Its shape is similar, but now the Superluminova takes center stage. The hands are completely filled with luminescent material and its black profile stylizes them aesthetically thanks to the small relief that differentiates the tips from the base. Appropriate legibility so as not to lose time with the turbine movement, which has a touch of color on the central seconds hand, in the same tone as the dial.
