Also this year the Met Gala red carpet saw the parade of many sensational watches in addition to the most incredible looks. It is no coincidence, in fact, that the event is considered the "Super Bowl of fashion".
The theme of the evening, held as usual at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, was "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”, a tribute to the great stylist and photographer who marked the history of fashion. It is no coincidence that Rami Malek is considered one of the most elegant men in the world and chooses, to complete a black and white look (homage to the colors of Lagerfeld), a very elegant Cartier Tank Louis in yellow gold and black dial. Among other things, the actor is the protagonist of the new advertising campaign of the Maison, together with the legendary Catherine Deneuve.
The legendary tennis player, who has always been the face of Rolex, has chosen to wear the brand new Reference 52508, included this year in the catalog of the crowned house. It is in fact a "dress watch", perfect to wear with a tuxedo. Class is not water and, on this occasion, Roger stood out with a classic and elegant choice. The American actor chose a sporty Richard Mille model with a green case and pink strap. A "particular" choice, like the rest of his look, considering that it is a model from the Richard Mille women's line. Ergonomic and ultra-light, it is a timepiece specifically designed for sports.
The Australian actress went for an ethereal look, choosing the same dress she wore in the famous commercial for Chanel No. 5 from 2004. To enrich this outfit, a delicious and very precious Omega that belongs to the archives of the Maison and which is even part of the Omega museum. Thin strap, minimal case, this timepiece perfectly matches Kidman's dreamy look.
The singer and TV presenter has chosen this superb Cartier model (Ref. WHTA0009), a limited edition of only 100 pieces, which stands out against a total black look. This timepiece, in platinum, boasts a particular skeleton and curved mechanism, which follows the shape of the case adapting perfectly to the wrist. Sublime!
The British actor sports a look that, with a mysterious black fan, pays homage to Kaiser Lagerfeld (usually using this accessory). The watch chosen by James McAvoy is superb, a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph in pink gold (Ref. Q389257J), which presents an indication of the hours and minutes on its two dials with contrasting and complementary styles. The first dial features the aesthetic codes of the Tribute line: iconic grooves, railway minute track, applied indexes and Dauphine hands that stand out against the black sunray dial. Once flipped into its brancard, the watch reveals a skeletonized second dial revealing the new Manufacture Caliber 860 and retrograde chronograph mechanics.
The American actor and singer walked the Met Gala red carpet accompanied by Priyanka Chopra, both in Valentino. On Nick Jonas' wrist we find an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph with gray dial and 38 mm case.
In the case of American skier and model Eileen Gu, not one but two watches enrich her romantic outfit. On her wrist, the model wears a rose gold IWC Automatic Portofino with a set diamond, while she carries a rose gold pocket watch with jumping hours and minutes and small seconds. This is an unusual modern pocket watch, a tribute to the iconic Pallweber.
Fashion designer Kim Jones showed off the Rolex “Cosmograph” Ref. 6238. This is a particular model because the watch with this reference was the first chronograph of modern conception made by Rolex. Precisely for this reason it is known among collectors with the name of Pre-Daytona.
In this shot there is a bit of Italy, even if you can't see it. In fact, very reliable sources have confirmed that this watch was bought by Kim Jones himself in Milan during Fashion Week.

The US NBA basketball player is definitely not a follower of "less is more"! In fact, at the Met Gala he showed off a look that, among pearls, prints and bows, certainly got people talking. Not least the timepiece he chose, a Patek Philippe Nautilus with non-factory diamonds and sapphires but the result of a customization by Greg Yuna.
As per tradition, the designer wears a black tuxedo paired with a classic Rolex Submariner 14060. The reference 14060 is the first modern Submariner reference which in the early 1990s replaced the historic ref. 5513.
The Oscar-winning actress chooses a model from the Maison of which she is an ambassador. This is the Richard Mille 07-01 in platinum and baguette-cut diamonds, which goes well with the black and white look sported for the event.
The actor chose a total black look and an extremely elegant and simple Vacheron Constantin model, with a black strap, featuring a design that pays homage to the Maltese cross, one of the watchmaking maison's emblems.
The British rapper exhibited a particular floral look (homage to the camellia, symbol of Chanel, the maison to which Lagerfeld was linked), combining a Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711/110P-001. These are special models, out of print, that Patek Philippe reserved for its customers. In particular, this was introduced in 2019 and discontinued together with the other 5711 references in 2021.
Not exactly a sober look, the one chosen by the American rapper. Let's say that only the wrist is saved, where a superb Day-Date in white gold stands out, with a silvered dial, set with full brilliant diamonds and a president bracelet. We recall for the record that last year, on the occasion of Watches & Wonders, Rolex introduced a platinum variant of this same watch with reference 228346.
The British actress, made famous by her role as Lyanna Mormont in the “Game of Thrones” series and who definitively rose to prominence with her role as Ellie in “The Last Of Us”, completes her look with a Hublot Big Bang (Ref. 361 .SE.2010.RW.1104) in steel and diamonds, with white strap.
