The new Monaco skeleton watches will in fact be presented on the occasion of the highly prestigious 80th Monaco Grand Prix, where the three watches will be set against the backdrop of a weekend of speed and the roar of Formula One single-seaters.

Introduced in 1969, the TAG Heuer Monaco has always been considered one of the most iconic watches in history, also thanks to the fact that it was worn by actor Steve McQueen in the 1971 film "Le Mans".

This year, for the first time in the history of the model, the iconic Heuer chronograph is presented with a brand new skeletonized dial in three different versions: “Original Blue”, “Racing Red” and “Turquoise”.

The choice of dial colors was not left to chance, in fact Tag Heuer, for the version with the "Original Blue" dial, took inspiration directly from the blue of the first TAG Heuer Monaco in history.

In contrast with the blue details of the skeletonized dial, there are the spheres of the chronograph counters and the central seconds one.

The second model, called "Racing Red", contains all the racing DNA of the Monaco collection.

The red of the indexes and spheres, recalling the sparks of track races, contrasts with the black details of the skeletonized dial.

The “Turquoise” is instead the third watch that completes the collection and offers a modern reinterpretation of the Monaco design by TAG Heuer.

The turquoise color of the dial details, chosen as a reference to the Monegasque coast, creates a perfect contrast with the black color that dominates the watch.

Like the other two models, the chronograph hands and that of the seconds are made with a red color in full racing style.

The chronograph hour and minute counters are positioned at 9 and 3 o'clock, while the date window stands out at 6 o'clock.

The chronograph functions of these three new watches can be activated using pushers located at 2 and 4 o'clock on the case.

The latter, in all three models, is characterized by a diameter of 47.4 mm and is made using grade 2 sandblasted titanium which, in the “Turquoise” model, differs in a black DLC treatment.

Through the sapphire crystal case back, it is instead possible to observe the in-house Heuer 02 automatic movement characterized by the engraved oscillating weight above which there are details matched to the color of the visible parts of the dial.

Completing the design of these three sports watches are the bi-material straps, designed with a combination of rubber and leather that have been crafted in the same color as the main details of the watch.

Price and availability

Available immediately, the “Original Blue” and “Racing Red” models will be sold at a list price of CHF 10,500, corresponding to approximately EUR 10,800.
