All specs and features of the Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5 have been leaked, after a listing appeared on Amazon Canada. The TicWatch Pro 5 is highly anticipated and should be the first smart watch to use the new generation of Snapdragon W5+ processors.
Although its existence has been officially announced, we now have a fairly clear idea of its main features and design. We were mostly interested in battery life, as the Snapdragon W5+ boasts significant improvements in efficiency.
The TicWatch Pro 5 offers 80 hours of normal use, compared to 72 hours for the Pro Ultra, thanks to a huge battery with a capacity of 611 mAh. It’s not the battery life you dreamed of, but it gets the Pro 5 to a fourth day, which means it delivers more than the Apple Watch Ultra — and puts the Pixel Watch to shame — which is not negligible.
Here are the main features of the TicWatch Pro 5:
- Horizontal and vertical scrolling from the digital crown
- Snapdragon W5
- Double layer screen
- HR, stress, SpO2
- Heart rate backlight
- Autonomy of 80 hours
- 45 days of autonomy
- Recovery and VO2 Max
- Compass and barometer
- Google Wallet
Besides the huge battery life, longevity is ensured by the dual-layer screen, which remains on the Pro 5, and which allows a battery life of 45 days in low power mode. It also charges to 65% in 30 minutes. The Pro 5 also features a sturdy 50mm stainless steel body, a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen and a 466 x 466 pixel display.
For the rest, it’s a very rich Wear OS 3 experience.
Emphasis on athletic performance
The focus is on athletic performance, not only with recovery and VO2 Max analytics, but also with a new HR backlight, which illuminates the screen with your heart rate zone.
Adds stress tracking and SpO2 spot checksbut there’s no mention of an ECG or other advanced health metrics from models like the TicWatch GTH 2. A temperature sensor is onboard, however.
There’s no indication of price or release date, but it looks like the watch will be available soon.
