Home Breguet has presented his new Classic Minute Repeater. A new watch in which the minute repeater complication stands out. One of the most surprising complications in the history of watchmaking and that Abraham-Louis Breguet already created in 1783 the first repeating watches that played on a spring today instead of the bell chime used until then.

The minute repeater is one of those great watchmaking complications that can be described as small mechanical masterpieces. In addition to the movement, they include a striking mechanism made up mainly of hammers that strike a spring. The various materials used in its design must present evident acoustic qualities. Finally, all components must be small enough to fit in a small box. It takes great rigor, great mastery, many years of experience and unrivaled expertise to create a repeat of minutes. As if this were not enough, the manufacture of this complication requires more than a month of hard work. Breguet has been perpetuating this art for almost 250 years at its Manufacture in the Joux Valley.

Breguet Classique Minute Repeater

A new watch with the elegance and know-how of the house of Breguet. A watch that with classic and elegant case lines and a dial with a precious finish, in addition to formidable legibility, hide the minute repeater complication.

It is available in two different finishes, with a rose gold case and large fire enamel dial in black, and in white gold with a large fire enamel dial in a midnight blue tone.

In both models the spheres are made with the great fire enamel technique. The colored powders, a mixture of silicon and ground oxides, are dissolved in water before being applied to the sphere using various methods. The key lies in the cooking process that follows. In fact, each layer and each color applied requires additional baking at a temperature of more than 800 degrees and for a time wisely programmed. The Breguet Arabic numerals and gold hands with openwork tips contrast on the dial.

The case, as we have already mentioned, is made of gold with a size of 42 mm in diameter and a thickness of 12.25 mm. Both the main crystal and the bottom seen are made of sapphire.

Inside, the caliber used is 567.2. Manufacture movement, mechanical manual winding. Entirely hand-engraved, as well as the steel hammers with a mirror-polished finish. The timbres are made of gold to provide a harmonious sound quality rich in partials (overtones). It has a 40-hour power reserve.

The set is completed by the crocodile leather strap with gold folding clasp.
