The development of Baltic since its creation in 2017 is simply exemplary. The young french brand has been able to take advantage of a spectacular start on Kickstarter to give life to a catalog rich in references as well thought out as each other. Focus today on their latest Bronze Waterscapea version sporting a sumptuous brown dial and adding a sapphire insert to a model already available in blue and black.
Let's start with the elements that remain unchanged. Baltic retains here the pleasant proportions of its diver, namely a 39mm in diameter associated with a thickness of 12mm and a lug to lug length of 47mm. Dimensions in complete coherence with the vintage spirit of the piece and which border on perfection. It is always driven by the reliable and robust Miyota 9039, an automatic dateless caliber made in Japan allowing it to be displayed at an affordable price while offering very good performance. A domed sapphire crystal crowns this case in bronze (with a rendering very close to gold) displaying water resistance to 20 bar.
But the big difference brought by this new version lies in the color of its dial: a smoked brown which will remind you of the tropical dials sought after by lovers of vintage melted patina. And the least we can say is that this shade works wonderfully with bronze. It is logically associated with indexes and Arabic numerals in beige Super-LumiNova, for a warmer look. Another big difference of this novelty, the bronze bezel welcomes here a sapphire insert accentuating the dressed side of this version, unlike the more raw models already in the collection. Baltic manages here to offer us a very intelligent evolution of its bronze range through subtle and yet so relevant modifications.
