The New Moonswatch Moonshine Gold is here! Swatch & Omega

Friends, 2 days ago, Swatch teased with a post on Instagram, a news Moonwatch with the caption: “Mission to Moonshine Gold”, and a series of times and cities like Zurich, Tokyo, Milan and London. Immediately, the web went into a total frenzy that directly reminded me of the madness of the year 2022 when Moonswatch’s first collection dropped.

THE NEW MOONSWATCH

Sold over 1 million copies, today we have the right to the second round. This new Moonwatch of 2023 takes up the iconic design of the Omega Speedmaster with its crown and two pushers. The 42mm diameter case still in bio-ceramic now incorporates a seconds hand in Gold Moonshine™ from OMEGA.

In 2019, Omega launched the Speedmaster Professional Apollo 11 – 50th Anniversary in Moonshine Gold. This 18-karat alloy is composed of 75% gold, 14% silver, 1% palladium and approximately 9% copper. It gives the gold a paler shade, but it also enhances the longevity of its color and luster.

This very special seconds hand was produced exclusively during the full moon of February, as indicated by the certificate that accompanies the watch. The watch will be sold for 275 CHF, it is currently not available in France but don’t panic it will be very soon, during the next full moon. It is not a limited edition. Regarding the sale on the brand’s website, you can forget.

This new version will not replace the Mission to the Moon. Personally I expected a little better, we are not on the madness of the year but more on the ease on the part of Omega. There was not a huge design work or color change, a little disappointed.

And you friends? Your opinion on this new Moonswatch?
