Herbelin Art Déco 1925

The highly successful design rendered in a delightfully trendy retro style.

Art Deco is very present in contemporary watchmaking. At Jaeger-LeCoultre of course, but also at Vacheron Constantin, Cartier, Audemars Piguet, Longines, etc.

Even today, many of the big names in luxury are inspired by this artistic movement with deep and lasting roots. Sometimes only by small touches, sometimes by recreating period models.

If the brand had not been born twenty years later (in 1947), this new Herbelin Art Deco 1925’S could have been created in the 20s/30s as its design and its spirit are so close to the design of those years.

More concretely, the steel case coated with polished yellow gold PVD (22 x 29.50 mm, water-resistant to 30 meters) has a rectangular shape; Gadrooned in steps (very Art Deco), its geometric rigor is softened by the curved sapphire crystal which gently rounds off the edge of the case.

Shimmering under the effect of the light, the polished lacquered black dial with golden dagger-type hands accentuates the architecture of the whole with a double interlaced frame polished golden mirror. Devoid of indexes to magnify the purity of the design, it reveals stylized faceted hands moving soberly under the signature logo of the watchmaker.

Integrated into the extension of the dial – an impression reinforced by the absence of a lug on the case – the black lizard-print leather strap is refined down to the pin buckle. It fits perfectly with the aesthetics of this watch.

Powered by a Swiss-made quartz movement (Ronda), this timepiece was designed, designed, assembled by hand, adjusted and checked in the Herbelin workshops.
