EPHJ, the international high precision exhibition, has closed the doors of its 21e edition with good attendance, a notable increase compared to 2022 and a quality of international professional visitors praised by the 750 exhibitors. A very positive assessment which reflects the good health of the watchmaking markets.
As the doors of the only show in the world dedicated to high precision watchmaking, jewelry, microtechnology and medical technology close, the organizers draw up a very satisfactory first assessment. “All our attendance indicators are on the rise,” explains Alexandre Catton, director of the EPHJ Show, “notably the presence of foreign visitors. But what I remember is the very positive state of mind and the very favorable atmosphere of this edition which reflect a dynamic market and well-filled order books for 2023. Which does not prevent our exhibitors from remain attentive to market developments according to their contacts during the Show.”
Concretely, EPHJ 2023 brought together 750 companies from 16 different countries, a significant increase compared to the 700 exhibitors in 2022. The most remarkable increase, however, is in terms of attendance with 21,780 Swiss and international professional visitors, i.e. an increase of 21% compared to 2022. A sharp increase in visitors was thus recorded during the 1er day of the Show. This progression is notably due to a greater presence of foreign visitors, coming from 5 continents. “Some exhibitors told me that they had spent a large part of their day speaking English,” explains Alexandre Catton. A sign that does not deceive.
Several highlights marked this 21e edition, in particular the last day dedicated to Job Dating to try to respond to the many positions open in the companies at the Show. Many candidates came to meet employers. Several round tables were also well attended with a special mention to the debate on the transmission of watchmaking knowledge with master watchmaker Philippe Dufour or on progress in medical robotics with Professor Nicolas Demartines, Director General of CHUV.
Let us also remember that the 2023 Exhibitors Grand Prize was awarded to the company MPS Watch for its new oscillating weight fixing system called Oscrew.
EPHJ 2024 will be held from June 11 to 14, still at Geneva-Palexpo.
