The watchmaking house Omega unveils its new creation, the Speedmaster Pilota watch that pays homage to the brand’s rich history in air and space. This contemporary model, anchored in the heritage of the very first Speedmaster from 1957, is aimed at aeronautics and watchmaking enthusiasts with an elegant design and innovative technical features.

A design inspired by aviation

With its symmetrical housing of 40.85mm Made of stainless steel, the Speedmaster Pilot is distinguished by a matte finish, reducing light reflections for optimal readability. The matte aluminum bezel maintains the authenticity of the original model with engraved details like the “Dot Over Ninety” and the “Diagonal to Seventy” on the tachymeter scale, emblematic references for collectors.

The grained matte black dial offers remarkable readability, enhanced by blocks of Super-LumiNova white which illuminate the hands and indexes in the dark. A bold touch is provided by the central chronograph hand, adorned with an airplane-shaped tip varnished in orange.

Cockpit-inspired subdials

The two twin subdials, located at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock, take direct inspiration from aviation. Omega’s aviation heritage
