To celebrate contemporary art through the auction TimeForArt organized by the Swiss Institute, the Maison Drink joins forces with Swiss artist William Ehinger to create a unique piece: Echoes of this Moment. This watch, inspired by natural landscapes and the essence of time, represents a fusion between the art of watchmaking and Ehinger’s artistic vision.
A unique collaboration for an exceptional watchmaking work
Echoes of this Moment, based on the model Automatic by Biver, presents for the first time a stainless steel case of 39mm. This material, lighter than the platinum or rose gold usually used, offers a new dimension to the design of the watch. The case finishes are reversed, with polished surfaces for the lugs and brushed facets, creating a subtle play of light that highlights the dial.
The dial is the heart of this watch. Made in 18k white gold and hand-engraved with an undulating pattern, it is then covered with several layers of colored enamel. This artisanal process, inspired by the works of Ehinger, gives the dial a changing effect, reminiscent of the surface of a lake at sunset. Tones of red, pink and gray evolve depending on the angle of light, creating a unique visual experience with each glance.
A tribute to Swiss nature
The collaboration between Pierre Biver and Guillaume Ehinger is based on their shared passion for Swiss art and landscapes, particularly those surrounding Biver’s workshops in Givrins and Ehinger’s studio in Vevey. This watch is a reflection of this inspiring environment, both wild and soothing, which permeates their daily lives.
The back of the watch reveals the caliber JCB-003an automatic movement with 22-carat gold micro-rotor. This micro-rotor is engraved with the name “Echoes of this Moment” as well as Ehinger’s signature, echoing his art. The movement bridges are decorated with fine engravings, while the sapphire crystal back allows you to admire the internal mechanism.
