In 2005, H.Moser & Ciethe very beautiful house in the Swiss canton of Schaffhausen, revealed a perpetual calendar (“QP”) very readable and easy to adjust that could be adjusted at any time of the day, whether forward or backward.
10 years later, in 2015, the brand marked a revival with the watch Endeavor Perpetual Calendar Funky Blue. She then embraced her new codes with a real renewal. We remember the arrival of these magnificent fumé dials.
Today, H. Moser & Cie launches an evolution of its QP Endeavor Perpetual Calendar Funky Blue watch (Reference 1800-0205) with a 42 mm case with the brand logo inscribed in transparent lacquer.
To celebrate this release and thumb its nose at the simplicity of the watch despite the mechanical prowess represented by the movement of the watch, some units will be available with a “cheat” dial that displays the technical characteristics of the watch.
A sleek QP dial
On the dial, no sub-dial, no unreadable date disc that requires a microscope to read it.
The indexes indicate the hours but also the months (the mini central hand).
The date window is at 3 o’clock and has a “flash calendar” which changes the date at midnight.
At 9 o’clock, a small hand very discreetly indicates the power reserve (7 days).
Setting the perpetual calendar
The date and time are set via the screw-down crown, regardless of the time of day, which is quite a feat.
QP owners know that letting a QP reach the end of its power reserve by mistake will cause you to visit the watchmaker to reset your toquante, for fear of damaging the movement by improper handling.
For fun, despite its simplicity, “poor students” can afford the version “for dummies” with the dial featuring fun annotations
