MK Access Gen 6 test: real autonomy, mixed use
Land, not brochure. Test carried out on October 20, 2025 between Toulouse — Parc du Ramier and hypercentre: departure 7:10 a.m., return 11:35 p.m. Settings: AOD off, continuous cardio, NFC on, all notifications (Gmail, Messages, WhatsApp), 45 min of GPS running (11:52 a.m. – 12:37 p.m.), 12 min of calls. From 100% to 12% at the end of the day: the watch held up, but only just. It’s happening. One day, not two.
Comparing the experience with our full review of Michael Kors watches, the DNA remains clear: style first, compromise of autonomy assumed on a daily basis. Another thing: beyond ~90 notifications/day, the drop visibly accelerated — I saw −18% in the 6 p.m.–11 p.m. period. Honestly logical.
On the chip side, Gen 6 runs on Snapdragon Wear 4100+ : the interface is fluid (gestures, tile switch), the apps launch quickly, and the heating remains contained in short GPS. That’s technically solid.
Wear OS: Michael Kors software follow-up after Fossil
The context cuts off the desire to tell stories. Fossil Group announced on January 26, 2024 its withdrawal from smartwatches (including MK Access) — with support for “a few years” for existing models. Translation: fixes, security, but low probability of major developments. In short: it’s running, but it’s no longer moving very quickly.
Concrete example: I observed a minor update at the end of 2024 on a test Gen 6, still Wear OS 3.5. Meanwhile, the ecosystem was already talking about Wear OS 6 and new wizard bricks. Real, measurable, annoying shift for software lifespan.
If you want to put MK back in the group, read honest comparison Michael Kors versus Fossil shows: we remind you who decides on the platforms, who manufactures, who updates. This is useful to understand why autonomy does not progress as much as in others.
Fast charging, sensors and daily use
The good news: fast charging saves days. Passages measured on October 22, 2025 : from 8% to 67% in 23 minutes (10 W mains, magnetic MK charger), then 80% around 30–31 min. The “80% in ~30 min” promise is credible, and it’s the life-changing feature in this format.
Waterproofing 3ATM : I made a simple protocol October 24, 2025 : shower 12 min at 38°C, cold rinse 30 s, no damage (well-sized seal, fixed crown). But we stay on one usage resistancenot sustained swimming. Public specs confirm 3 ATM on the Gen 6 MK.
On the wrist, the AMOLED is a real eye-catcher — contrasting dials, correct readability at midday on Place du Capitole (clear sky weather, test of October 21, 2025). And as is often the case with MK, the bezel, the links, the pushers have a visual presence that geeks underestimate. If you look at the other family (not connected), refer to Miyota reliability analysis on Michael Kors watches — other product logic, let’s not mix it up.
