Claudio D’Amore and his team seem tireless. Each year and for 7 years now, they push the cursor ever further. Manufacture movement, peripheral mass, chronograph, sapphire case or even the fascinating Mecascape, CODE41 never ceases to surprise the watchmaking sphere. Without giving in to the siren song, the brand remains faithful to its DNA from which stems a new collection called T360 and animated by a movement whirlwind.
A community and “accessible” project
In addition to its futuristic stylistic signature, CODE41 is a brand that systematically appeals to its community to design and above all validate its new creations. Although the tone is set by the brand team, every color, every material and every design is validated by its customers and fans. And since everything remains engraved in stone, it is impossible to pretend, thus requiring total transparency. The new page that opens today for watchmaking troublemakers takes the brand to a symbolic milestone, resulting from more than 12,000 votes. The initial objective was “simple”: to succeed in offering a watch with a tourbillon below the symbolic bar of 10,000CHF. Of course, this is not a trivial sum, far from it, but for a Swiss tourbillon, it is quite exceptional. For this first pre-order which opens today, the Creator’s Edition, only 150 pieces will be produced.
A 100% Swiss tourbillon
To achieve such a feat, the CODE41 team surrounded itself with nine prestigious partners, enabling them to design a tourbillon in record time and with indisputable expertise. From the design of the movement, through the regulating organs and up to the hardware, all are listed in a transparent manner, just as MB&F has done since its foundation. This results in a 100% Swiss tourbillon hand-wound, equipped with 105 hours of power reserve with an accuracy of -5/+5 seconds per day. Everything is fully skeletonizedlike almost all of the brand’s watches, to offer an exceptional view of each cog.
A new case and 200 possible configurations
To everyone’s surprise, although it is a logical choice to celebrate this achievement, CODE41 unveils a new case. baptized “Stratom”this box at the multi-layer construction displays a shape close to a barrel, but with pronounced curvatures to draw the horns. A very interesting option that allows you to slice with NativeDNA case proposed since the beginning of the adventure, also available for this project. In both cases, they are racy watches from 42mm by 12mm thickin grade 5 titaniumwhich will be mounted on 24mm wristbands in leather, rubber or steel. Small wrists might wince, though it’s a design that lends itself to less contained dimensions. Given the success of the brand, we suspect that all the pieces will quickly find takers and that other editions will follow…but certainly not at the same price!
