Huawei Watch GT 5 PRO VS Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra - Comparative & rankings

Huawei Watch GT 5 PRO vs. Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra: A Comparative Analysis and Rankings

You might think that a connected watch is worth another. Until the time of passing it on the wrist. On the one hand, Huawei treats matter and gesture, like a contemporary watchmaking piece that knows how to distance the distance.

On the other, Samsung imposes a clear, square, almost utilitarian reading, calibrated for the effort and the Android ecosystem. Two philosophies, the same playground: your daily life.

Design and materials

Huawei claims an almost watchful sense of detail. Titanium housing for 46 mm format, nanocristalline ceramic for 42 mm, sapphire glass, bracelets that fall just. We feel the search for texture, the contrast of the finishes, the desire to embellish an outfit as much as to count steps. This is the watch of an appointment, a long-haul flight, a dinner, which also knows how to go to sport.

Samsung plays another music. The Galaxy Watch Ultra assumes its “squirt” size, its protected edges, its action button, its Grade 4 titanium case and its military certification. It is a technical piece, readable, with a clear promise: resist, inform, guide. We choose it for its presence and its efficiency outdoors, not to blend under a round.

Features that matter (without the jargon)

  • Health and follow -up: ECG, sleep, stress, heart rate … both check all the useful boxes, with availability of analysis which can vary depending on the country. No esoteric: clear metrics, available at a glance, configurable according to your habits.

  • Navigation and sport: At Samsung, double GPS L1+L5, GPX with trackback, action button to launch an activity, alert/mermaid and very high readability in the sun. At Huawei, cartography of more than 15,000 golf courses, enriched trail running, and real ease in aquatic activities. Two interpretations of the “field”, one very outdoor, the other more “sport chic”.

Autonomy, a real fracture line

This is where the choice can decide. Huawei announces up to 14 days on the GT 5 pro 46 mm (9 days in typical use), and about 5 days with the screen still on. In fact, this means a weekly load, sometimes less if you accumulate sports sessions and notifications.

Samsung communicates up to 60 hours in “normal” use (AOD activated), up to 80 hours (AOD deactivated), and up to 100 hours in energy saving mode, with a sport mode dedicated to 48 hours. In other words: two to three nights between two charges if you push brightness and training. It is suitable, but it remains more frequent than in Huawei.

Water, dust, unforeseen

Software experience and real use

Comfort, sizes, bracelets

The GT 5 PRO exists in 42 and 46 mm, with a very different port: ceramic more “jewel” on one side, more sporty titanium on the other. The ultra galaxy Watch does not offer this dualism: an assumed format and a unique drawing, available via bracelets. It’s up to you to see if you prefer to adapt the watch to the outfit (Huawei) or adapt the outfit to the watch (Samsung).

Summary

If your watch must forget and last, the GT 5 Pro is one step ahead. If it has to train, guide, alert, the ultra galaxy Watch plays a frank-game. It’s up to you to see what your wrist tells of your days.
