The bottom of the box and the container are both made of Eco-Titanium (recycled titanium). The titanium folding clasp of the rubber strap, with its decorated recycled aluminum cap, is also
green anodized, just like the sport buckle of the Velcro strap.
Still in this “we recycle, we recycle” spirit, the Big Bang Unico Nespresso Origin also invites recycled coffee grounds from Nespresso capsules into the alchemy of its bracelets thanks to its patented One Click interchangeability system.
For the fabric strap, Hublot collaborated with SingTex, a Nespresso partner that was already using recycled coffee grounds to make a fabric called Scafé. This fabric, 100% recycled (composed of 5% coffee grounds and 95% recycled polyester), is for the first time used to make a bracelet
of watch.
As for the rubber strap, it also combines 4.1% coffee grounds, 8.2% recycled white rubber and the usual Hublot formula… In short, here again, the recycled quantities are extremely low…
Another first, the Big Bang Unico Nespresso Origin will be accompanied by the Hublot Greenbox case. A new box entirely developed by the watch manufacturer to now accompany all of its watch collections. Made entirely of oak wood up to its hinges, it is cut from traceable wood, mostly solid and its origin and production favor short circuits.
Intended to become a reusable object, its removable interior reaches 98% eco-responsible and recycled components. It is made of recycled fabrics, plastic and PET threads, as well as recycled paper and cardboard labeled eco-sustainable.
A symbolic, green and virtuous watch that fits in with the current trend of the high-end Swiss watch industry, which is turning more and more towards “green”… But given the very low quantities of recycled materials in each timepiece, this is clearly not what will change the planet!
