For 2023, the designers of the Grande Maison have redesigned the case of the Reverso Tribute in pink gold or steel (water-resistant to 30 meters). Thinner by almost 1 millimeter than the current case, it is only 7.56 mm thick! That’s still 10% less!
As a reminder, the sliding and reversible mechanism of the Reverso makes it one of the most complex in watchmaking; hence the challenge of reducing their thickness… Comprising more than 50 components – including nearly 40 dedicated to the pivoting mechanism alone – the cases are entirely produced and assembled by hand in the JLC factory by a specialized team. .
The manufacturing process for sunburst dials is both complex and delicate. The base of the dial is first galvanized to give a metallic shine and protect the metal from oxidation. Then, a fine metal brush draws very fine, almost imperceptible lines on the surface, creating a sunburst pattern that intersects precisely in the center of the dial.
