Discover our opinion on the Anomaly Evolution of Code41. Test and photos of the third generation of Anomaly by Code41. A great success to come.
2016: launch of Anomaly-01 and 02
We no longer present the Swiss brand Code41 which shook up the watch market in 2016 with the fanfare launch of theAnomaly-01 and of theAnomaly-02. With new communication, great transparency on manufacturing costs and a very successful design, the launch of the 2 Anomalys was a successful first attempt (more than 15,000 watches sold).
The Lausanne brand was then able to capitalize on this success by building an ever-growing community of fans and successfully launching the now famous X41, Day41 and NB24 Chrono, each of which exceeded one million euros in sales. ‘affair. This is the virtuous circle: more and more fans of the brand participating in the creation of the new model via online votes on the choice of movement, the colors of the dials, the design, the price level; and therefore pre-orders which sold out in just a few days, further strengthening the appeal of the brand.
I myself had acquired an Anomaly-01 in 2016. I had been seduced by its design and by the enormous buzz around the brand. My Anomaly-01 still works perfectly without any overhaul and I wear it regularly.
The Anomaly Evolution watch: our opinion
I’Anomaly Evolution takes up the strong points of the Anomaly-01 and 02 but also has very interesting specificities.
Design of the Anomaly Evolution
At first glance, we recognize that it is an Anomaly. We find this look sporty/technical which pleased so much on the first two models. We see very clearly the relationship between the Anomaly-01 and 02 and this new model but clearly, the new Evolution is more impactful, more accomplished than previous models. The play on transparency, on the materials, the small touches of red are very successful. The brand has added a transparent back, superluminova indexes and increased water resistance to 100 meters.
A Swiss movement for the Anomaly Evolution
Like all the latest Code41 models, theAnomaly Evolution embeds a Swiss movement and is assembly in Switzerland. These are two quality criteria that guarantee you a watch that will last over time.
The Anomaly Evolution embeds a movement Sellita SW 200-1 elaborate, 26 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per day with a 38-hour power reserve, an Incabloc shock absorber and automatic winding by oscillating weight. Each movement has undergone a precision test performed on three different positions. In short: very serious.
A wide variety of decors
First of all, the Anomaly Evolution is now available in two dial sizes 38mm or 41.5mm, with a respective weight of 67 or 86 grams. Small wrists like me will prefer the 38mm dial. Note, the 2 dials have a nice thickness of 11 millimeters.
Then Code41 offers you a multitude of colors of dials, cases, indexes and straps. We really like the white or black leather straps with steel case and red hands. The green needles are also very beautiful. You will find all the options available on the brand’s website.
An affordable price
Unlike the latest models of the brand which were offered between 3500€ for the NB24 and 5400€ for the X41, we find a price level much more accessible with the Anomaly Evolution.
THE starting price is indeed 900€. It will increase to 1200€ thereafter.
Pre-orders start this Wednesday, April 28, 2021
Given the fairly low price for a Code41 and the phenomenal success of the brand’s latest pre-orders, you won’t have to wait long if you want to treat yourself to an Anomaly Evolution.
Pre-orders will be open this Wednesday, April 28, 2021 on Code 41 website here. We highly recommend this little wonder.
